The moment I stood inside the University of Helsinki and realised I had been thinking too small.

"I walked into that building thinking I knew what I wanted. By the time I walked out, I realised I had not even been asking the right questions. That shift, that single afternoon, changed the direction of everything I thought I was heading toward."

Before the programme, my idea of a good future was simple: score well, get into a good college, find a stable career. I had a plan. I thought that plan was enough. I did not know that what I actually had was a script, one that had been handed to me so gradually, so consistently, that I had mistaken it for my own thinking.
The Mind Design masterclass on Day 1 of Future X Finland was unlike any class I had sat through before. The session began not with facts or slides, but with a question that was disarmingly simple: What do you actually want? Not what your parents want for you. Not what will look good on a university application. What do you, the person sitting in this room right now, actually want your life to look like?
I realised, with a clarity that was almost uncomfortable, that I had no answer. I had never been asked that question by anyone who expected an honest response. And I had never asked it of myself with any real seriousness. That silence, that gap between being asked and having nothing to say, was the most important moment of the entire programme for me.
โ
Nobody had ever asked me what I actually wanted, not my parents, not my teachers. By the time the session ended, I had the beginning of an answer. And it was completely different from the plan I arrived with.

Tallinn, Estonia ยท World Design Day
The World Design day, the cruise to Estonia, was where something solidified. We had been on the ship for a few hours when a small group of us ended up on the deck together. It was late. The sea was calm. Helsinki was behind us. Tallinn was ahead. And we were somewhere in between, which, I realised, was exactly the right place to be having the kind of conversation we were having.
We talked about what we wanted our lives to mean. Not just what careers we wanted, but what kind of people we wanted to be, what we wanted to stand for, what problems we wanted to help solve. It was the kind of conversation I had never had with people my own age before. The programme creates the conditions for it. But the conversation itself is real. Nothing about it is manufactured.

The European Pitch Competition on Day 6 was the moment I surprised myself the most. I had never presented an original idea to an audience before. I had practised relentlessly the night before, and I was terrified. But the moment I began speaking, something happened that I can only describe as the feeling of being in the right place at the right time, saying the right thing. I knew my idea. I believed in it. And the audience believed me.
I left Helsinki with a University of Helsinki HY+ endorsed certificate, two Harvard ManageMentor credentials, and a professional recording of my pitch. But those are documents. What I carried home in a way no certificate can capture was this: a completely different relationship with my own potential. The programme did not give me a direction. It gave me the clarity and the courage to find my own.

The flagship programme. 7 days across Finland and Estonia. 5 pillars of Curriculum 2030. 4 globally recognised certifications. The European Pitch Competition.
The day a psychologist asked me what I actually wanted and I had no answer.
"Nobody had ever asked me that before. Not my parents, not my teachers. The Mind Design session made me realise how much I had been performing expectations rather than chasing my own truth."
Somewhere on the Baltic Sea, between two countries, I found my direction.
"It was midnight. The sea was still. I was on the deck of the cruise with three people I met four days ago and somehow we were having the most honest conversation of my life."
A 130-year-old chocolate factory taught me more about brand and business than three years of commerce class.
"The Fazer visit was supposed to be a fun afternoon. It turned into the moment I understood what it means to build something people love and why that matters."
